Ojai Vacation {April 28 – May 1}

by Kelli H. on May 2, 2016

Last weekend we went to Ojai, California. It was our first time visiting and also our first solo vacation since our honeymoon in July 2013. Needless to say we were eager to get away. After months of planning the week finally came and we were as ready as we could be. Ryder was staying with my mom and dad and we were leaving Thursday morning bright and early! Unfortunately, David came down with a fever Wednesday (102!) before we left and ended up having a fever until the morning we left to come home.

While it wasn’t the trip we had planned for, we still managed to get out of the casita that we’d rented. With the help of some heavy dose motrin David was even able to do a 5 mile hike with me! Some highlights of the trip were dinner at Ranch House, dinner at AZU, Browsing Bart’s Books (outdoor book store) driving out and hiking North Fork Matilijia Trail, reading and relaxing on our casitas front porch, starting and finishing season 1 of Catastrophe on Amazon (watch it!!), visiting Meditation Mount, and brunching at Luna Red in San Luis Obispo on our way back home.

Hope you enjoy some of the photos we took while we were away.

The place you stayed at looks really nice and so does the food and drinks, glad you had a good time.

I’m sorry that David was sick, poor guy! But it looks like you still managed to pack a lot in and have fun! Andrew and I have been wanting to go to Ojai and go to the raptor center sometime. Our family friends live there so I used to go a lot when I was younger, but I haven’t been back in many years. I do remember going to Bart’s books, we had to since my Dad’s name is Bart and he is obsessed with books! lol I hope David is feeling better.

He’s starting to feel better now but still has a bad cough and is taking this week easy. Bart’s Books was really awesome! They had so many nooks and crannies and tables with tons of succulents everywhere. I loved it.

I looked into the Raptor Center but it’s closed to the public. Looks like you have to make an appointment but you guys should do it and go!
