Opal2Overall Impression:

When I first tasted this beer at the brewery I loved it. It was right when I was really getting into saison’s so it made a good impression. I was happy David grabbed a bottle during the holidays for us to do a brew review since I hadn’t had it since August. Good thing I still liked it!

This beer upon first sip might be a tad radical to someone who doesn’t enjoy saison’s. It was super crisp and had lots of carbonation which I enjoy. The color is super bright and reminds me of spring or a warm day, but it was also delicious on a cold winter day in the cabin over my vacation. So, I think this beer could be enjoyed anytime.

The taste isn’t really too funky for a saison. It’s definitely not a beer for everyone but if you’re into saison’s I don’t see how you couldn’t enjoy this beer. It’s very light and super easy to drink. I think that even someone who is a novice saison beer drinker could get into this one. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a drinkable saison that isn’t too cray cray.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a saison beer! I’ll have to try to find one next time Marty and I head out for date night. 🙂

I usually really love saisons! Again these were everywhere in Colorado! I have been seeing them more and more in the Bay Area and that makes me quite happy!
