Brew Review: Tap It Brewing Pale Ale

by Kelli H. on May 28, 2014

Beer: Tap It Brewing Co. Pale Ale
Date: 5-24-14
Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
Alcohol: 6%

Appearance: Straw colored, clear, carbonation bubbles, and a nice white head.

Aroma: Pine, hops, and extremely fresh.

Body & Texture: Smooth, up front hops, great carbonation that provides tingles.

Aftertaste: Balanced well between lots of hops and a slight maltiness.

Overall Impression:
I’m a big fan of Tap It’s IPA, so when I saw their Pale Ale at Savemart in Truckee on a recent trip I knew I had to try it. My mom and I shared this 22 oz beer on a warm Saturday afternoon out in the backyard. We had spent a few hours ATVing in the woods and were ready for a cold one when we got back.

I love pale ales because I feel like they usually have a good balance between the hops that I crave but also more maltiness background that IPA’s provide. I was definitely not let down by Tap It. They have a wonderful signature taste that I could taste in this pale ale and in their IPA. I really enjoyed their pale ale and really don’t have one bad thing to say about the beer. I think it’s simply delicious, and I’d definitely recommend it and I’d buy it again.

If you see this one, give it a try! My only complaint was that I had a hard time finding the IBU’s on this beer. Also, according to their website the alcohol says 6.5% but the bottle said 6%. I hope in August when I’m in SLO I can make a pit stop to their tasting room.
