I figured since I didn’t have any random posts in April that I should do a review of April. April turned out to be a pretty good month. It started out with beautiful weather, like seriously ridiculously nice. We also had a couple rain days. I packed in lots of exercise and multiple hangouts with friends. Only thing that slacked was this blog of mine — whoops! All in all April was a success and has made me super excited for May!
The first weekend in April was so nice that David and I met our friends Eric & Malia at Lagunitas. They brought their dogs Indie and Rufio, we brought Ryder, and we had a tasty lunch in the sun on their beer garden. We then took the dogs over to a very large dog park in Petaluma. It’s like 8 acre’s or something — best dog park, ever! Later that night we had them over for a BBQ and feasted on grilled steak, grilled bell peppers, salad, and bread. It was a great start to April.
The next week I met up with Max and Maren on a Thursday. We drove out to Korbel to do a champagne tasting so they could pick out some wedding champagne. They went with the Korbel Chardonnay Champagne and it was delicious! We had fun sharing a bottle on Korbel’s patio while we feasted on sandwiches from the Korbel deli. It was such a fun Thursday afternoon. Too bad I had to go back to work.
While we were at Korbel my mom snapped this wonderful picture of Ryder and their dog, Donner. Ryder caught in the act! Though, Donner doesn’t look too upset by it. He’s pretty used to it these days.
The next week we met up with Eric, Malia, Rufio, and Indie at Sonoma Regional Park where the dogs played in the lake. Ryder is the biggest fan of water and loves swimming after his Chuck-it toy that my brother, Jason bought him for Christmas two years ago. I’m looking forward to many more afternoons and evenings spent there this summer. He has such a blast there!
The next day my dad dropped me off this deliciously delicate rosé from France that he bought at Whole Foods. We brought it over to a BBQ at Max & Maren’s. I love going to their house for a few reasons. I enjoy sitting in their big backyard and letting the dogs play hard. It’s also fun to drink a bottle of wine/beer with friends, and I love having my friends cook for me. It’s so nice to have a night off from cooking. Max made such a tasty smoked tri-tip. So good that David and I smoked our first tri-tip the next weekend to replicate it. We got together with them to watch Game of Thrones, but I am not a fan. I went anyway to enjoy their company, but I just don’t see the appeal of the show…regardless, I had a great time.
