David and I bought this beer a few weeks back to try. I’d been really want to give Green Flash’s saison a try. I like trying new saison’s, but I don’t seem to try that many. We went up to my parents house one weekend to feed their cat while they were out of town, we tried some beers, and played ball with Ryder in their backyard. The weather was not winter-like at all. It was a beautifully sunny January day. As for the beer, I’m honestly not impressed. I was conflicted in writing that. The beer overall is enjoyable, and I really like that it has a low alcohol percent, but I was left a little underwhelmed. I’ve had way better saison’s and I don’t even try that many! One in particular that I can think of the top of my head as better is Tank 7
. What does Green Flash’s saison have going for it? Great carbonation which led to amazing burps, a light tasting beer with low alcohol, a beautiful color, and a nice bottle. When it comes down to it, I think we paid about $11.99 for a 4-pack of it. Am I happy I tried it? Yes! Would I buy it again? No! Would I drink it again if it were offered to me? Yes! So, as you can tell I’m conflicted. While I like the beer, I just don’t think it’s worth the price.
If you’ve tasted Saison Diego, let me know what you think!
