Brew Review: Anderson Valley Hop Ottin’

by Kelli H. on October 15, 2013

Beer: Anderson Valley Hop Ottin’
Date: 9-22-13
Type: IPA
Location: Boonville, CA
Alcohol: 7%
Price: $7.99/six pack
IBU: 78

Appearance: Copper colored, beige head

Aroma: Citrus, pine, hops galore!

Body & Texture: Medium bodied. Leaves tongue feeling dry.

Aftertaste: First and foremost hops, but also a nice malt.

Overall Impression:
About a week after buying Poleeko, I decided to grab a six pack of Hop Ottin’, because I had been so happy with Poleeko, and let’s be honest, you can’t beat the price of $7.99. Hop Ottin’ has definitely been a beer lately that I’m really enjoying. I pretty much drank this whole six pack to myself (not in one day, mind you). I really think the color is beautiful for this fall weather. The aroma is GREAT, and the taste is wonderful. It’s a really easy IPA to drink, and goes great with pizza, and I’ve also enjoyed it with burritos. It can hold up to some bold foods. I definitely recommend this IPA, and I’ll be buying it again and again.

Great review girl! I love the label on this bottle and your opening shot is gorgeous, it could totally be in a magazine or at least an ad for the beer. I hope you’re enjoying this gorgeous weather. We ate dinner on the deck tonight and it felt like summer again! 🙂

Thanks, Jackie! I know! It’s sooo warm! My runs have been so hot, but I’m lovin’ it! Trying to soak it up before it’s gone.

I had the best IPA the other day and thought of you! I wish I remember the name but it was Lagunitas brand..Sumpin or something like that. Maybe it wasn’t in IPA…hmm.

So glad you thought of me! Yes, Lagunitas Lil Sumpin Sumpin. My mother-in-law loves that one.
