Appearance: Clear, golden colored, and small head.

Aroma: Mild hops and malts but nicely balanced.

Aftertaste: Very clean — not too much to the aftertaste. Slight flavors of malt.

Overall Impression:
This is a great beer for in the sun. Definitely a beer for the summer! I’m not sure I’d even like it any other time of the year. It requires hot weather. Though, tonight when I picked up a six pack it wasn’t very warm outside. Just sunny and in the 70’s. It’s the perfect beer for sunny weather is what I’m trying to get at. It’s very refreshing and the low alcohol makes it great for that hot weather. I’m pretty sure any new beer drinker could enjoy this beer. It’s not a beer I’d typically order or buy a six pack of but I was feeling reminiscent of our honeymoon on the Big Island, so I picked up a pack at Whole Foods. This was a great beer on the island. Sunshine, heat, humidity, and a cold Big Wave was perfect. I’d recommend this beer for anyone looking for a nice summer session beer. By the way, that Big Wave in the picture below was $8 at the resort — extortion!

 Enjoy!

Hey girl! I love at how you hint that this beer is best enjoyed in hot weather. It has not felt like summer down here in Corte Madera. It was 60 degrees and super windy yesterday. We had planned on enjoying dinner in the back yard, but that never happened. At least where you are, it’s warmer and not as windy. I always know that if I travel at least 5-10 minutes north, I will have warmer and calmer weather in the summer!
I think I tried this beer at a friends house, I can’t remember too much about it, but I do remember the label. I think the label is pretty cool! xoxo, Jackie

Mmmm I like a lot of Kona’s offerings – but haven’t tried this one! Thanks for linking up!

This is probably my favorite of theirs I’ve tried. One of the first beers I ever liked was Kona Longboard Lager, but I can’t barely drink that now. I just crave hops!

This is one of my favorite beers from Kona Brew. Light, crisp, refreshing and a great summer beer. I have to hunt it down usually, but if it’s stocked at WF, then I’ll make the drive over and pick some up 🙂
