Beer: Stone Dayman Coffee IPA
Type: Coffee IPA
Location: Escondido, CA
Aroma: Confusing because it’s very hoppy but also chocolately coffee
Appearance: Clear, deep gold, lots of little bubbles
Body & Texture: Very piney hops upon first sip. Zippy and fresh with great carbonation. Midum to full bodied.
Aftertaste: Black roasted coffee flavor
This is a collaboration beer, and I think they all did an excellent job on it. This beer is kind of confusing to the palate, because the hop characteristic is so piney but it fades to this delicious roasted coffee flavor. It’s verrryyyy interesting! This is not a beer I would seek out to drink all the time, but it’s definitely one you should try once! It would be the perfect beer to bring to a beer tasting, party, or gift for a craft beer lover. Stone is known to make great IPA’s and this beer is no exception. I think they completely dominated what they set out to do. Although it’s not a beer I’d want to have a six pack of (if they made it in a six pack), it’s a highly enjoyable beer, and any craft beer enthusiastic should be able to appreciate what they did here.
