Yay! I am so happy to share this wine of the week pick.
This cab was soooooo good! Maybe I’m building it up a bit, but I really loved it.
I can honestly say, I don’t have any experience with cab’s, but this one was so smooth. It was also pretty dry, which I’m finding I tend to like. It wasn’t overly acidic, had a delicate aroma, and just overall tasted delicious.
Drinking this cab made me understand why some people are so into wine. I drank a glass (or two) while I cooked my Drunken Sausage Risotto. This particular cab works wonderful in the recipe, but I believe any cab would work well.
If I were judging this bottle by the label, I totally would have skimmed right past it. Nothing about it would have caught my eye. My dad gave me this bottle to try, and I’m so thankful he did. I think he has another one that I might have to “borrow”.
I know Korbel is widely known for their sparkling wines, but I’d really recommend picking up a bottle of one of their reds. I haven’t been disappointed in a Korbel wine yet. This particular cab is their 2009, so it’s aged for a few years, maybe that’s why it was especially delicious?
It’s really something special when David and I are both drinking a couple glasses of red and think it’s delicious.
