Brew Review: Lagunitas Day Time

by Kelli H. on September 4, 2012

Beer: Lagunitas Day Time
Date: 9-2-12
Location: Petaluma, CA
Type: A Fractional IPA
Availability: Limited
Price: $9.99/six pack
Alcohol: 4.65%
IBU’s: 54.2

Aroma: Skunky hops and small citrus hints.

Appearance: Completely clear, small amount of bubbles rising to the top, light golden color.

Body & Texture: Very light bodied, lager like. Carbonation bubbles pop in your mouth! Very smooth.

Aftertaste: Clean, crisp, light hops.

Overall Impression:
I’m in love! Fo Real. This is such a great summer beer! Really, it’s the ultimate summer beer. Well, it’s the ultimate summer beer, if you’re an IPA lover. I love the aroma, it’s so potent, but when you take a sip, it’s so light. I really appreciate Lagunitas brewing this “fractional” IPA. If you’re not a hop head, this is the perfect IPA to get into IPA’s. It’s super light, and reminds me of a lager in body, but doesn’t skimp out on the aroma and flavor. My only complaint is that it’s limited release! At least I’ll have something to look forward to next summer. Definitely pick yourself up a six pack ASAP.

A friend was just telling me about Lagunitas Sumpin’ Sumpin’. I haven’t had either of these brews, but will definitely be on the look out for them.

Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ is so popular here. I actually think it’s a little too sweet, but other ppl. LOVE it. Definitely give it a try.

I LOVE IPA’s! I’ll have to give this a try. Are you a fan of Sierra Nevada Torpedo’s? YUM!

This one is definitely on my “short” list. Thanks for introducing it!

You have GOT to be a beer lover to describe it as a bit “skunky” but still be in love with it. haha Cheers!

Your Lagunitas love inspired me to pick up WTF recently. I haven’t tried it yet, but I hope to this weekend.

haha, probably not the best descriptor word, but it’s true!

I hope you like WTF, it’s a little old now since it’s a seasonal, but it seems like one that would age well.

I want to try this brew! Maybe I’ll have to wait until next summer though… website says it’s the August special drats
