I'm really not sure what to say about these. The donut pan I won from Damn Delicious has been a damn hazard for my health. No, I kid, I kid. Baked donuts are healthy, right? Well, maybe healthier than regular donuts. They sure are fun to make! and eat! and decorate the pictures (?)
I guess something about funfetti and sprinkles makes me feel like a kid. So, maybe I've been out of the loop for the last twenty
Back to the donuts, which I am now writing as 'donuts' because I am a lazy American. See previous baked donut/doughnut post. This recipe is a little different than the original and the results were great! Just another awesome donut recipe to add the collection I plan on having.
Okay, enough of me talking, just go make some "healthy" donuts and enjoy your weekend!
2 cups cake flour, sifted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 Tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 - 1/3 cup sprinkles
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees and spray doughnut pan with nonstick spray.
2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add buttermilk, vanilla, eggs, melted butter, and sprinkles until just combined. Fill each doughnut cavity with batter. Best way to do this is by using a piping bag.
3. Bake for about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before removing. Proceed to glazing.
