Overall Impression:
This was my 2nd time trying this beer. I’ll go ahead and admit that I was somewhat disappointed in this beer, although, David thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m not sure what it was, but this beer did not appeal to me. I felt that it was just very bitter hops with nothing else to offer. It seemed more hoppy than 60 IBU’s. The alcohol was masked nicely and went down smooth. I thought the color was very nice. From what I’ve been reading on American Strong Ales, I’m just not sure how this is considered one. It seemed more like a Double IPA. This beer sits very light in your mouth which might make you think it’s lighter than 8.8% abv so be forewarned! I had my small little tasting glass of this, and I could feel it. Then again, I’m a lightweight. 🙂 Any DIPA lovers out there, or Lagunitas fans, I recommend trying this, but it might not be your favorite. I much prefer regular Lucky 13.

If you’ve tried Lucky 13.alt or regular Lucky 13, let me know what you think!

Wow the color on it looks amazing. Out of beer in my fridge. This might have to make its way into it. I like me my IPAs, though I am not a fan of overly bitter hops. I’ll give it a try 🙂

Hmmm, i agree that the color’s great. What a tease! haha I’ve got a Lagunitas IPA in the fridge right now, and this post may have just persuaded me to open it when I get home.
