Kelli’s Chili

by Kelli H. on October 12, 2011

I made this recipe on November 1st, 2008.
It was a cold night and my Dad and I wanted some chili. I didn’t
have any of the right ingredients for any chili I normally
make. I decided to make up my own.
This is the outcome and ever since
it’s been a family favorite.
Kelli’s Chili
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
3-4 garlic cloves, minced
1.25 pounds ground turkey
1 package turkey keilbasa, sliced lengthwise and then chopped to 1″ pieces
2 Tablespoons chili powder
1 Tablespoon cumin
1 teaspoon coriander
1 (28oz) can petite diced tomatoes
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
toppings: cheddar cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, etc.

1. In a large pot or dutch oven over medium heat add olive oil, onion, and garlic. Saute for about 3 minutes and then add in ground turkey. Saute ground turkey for about 5 minutes or until crumbled. Add in keilbasa and saute for a few minutes. Add in seasonings and saute for 1 minute. Add in the remaining ingredients and simmer for about 15-20 minutes. Serve in bowls with assorted toppings.
Do you have a favorite chili you always fall back on?

So sad I missed this last night! I can’t wait for lunch though! Hopefully there’s some left!

Yum, I’m always interested in a recipe with beer in it! Bring it!

Last night I wanted to make cornbread and chili but didn’t have any chili :-(. Why didn’t I have this recipe last night? 😉
