WTF: Lagunitas Brewing Company

by Kelli H. on May 23, 2011

Back in April, David & I went to Lagunitas Brewing Company.  We had been wanting to go for over a year but for some reason never went.  We finally went the weekend we celebrated our anniversary.  I loved sitting outside in their beir garten (hehe, who am I kidding? beer garden).  Loved how different it was from any other brewery we’ve been too.  Very unique to say the least.  I love when breweries write the names of the beers you try.  That way you can remember what one you’re drinking. Love that quote too.

Honestly, I barely remember what those beers tasted like.  No, not because I was too drunk.  That’s all we drank between the 2 of us! HA!  I know I didn’t like beer #4: Hairy Eyeball or beer #3: Farm.  I think Farm was the one that was barely carbonated and ferments in wine barrels.  C’mon, when I’m drinking beer I want it to taste like beer!  Love  me some carbonation and malty goodness.  None of those beers were really malty but out of the 4 my winner was…

IPA Maximus.  We currently have tons of this in our refrigerator right now thanks to David’s friend, Jeff. : )

While we were tasting our beers and snacking on hummus with pita chips and a veggie sangwich our server dropped this guy off at our table and said something along the lines of “You have a little visitor”.

We never quite figured out what it was, some sort of figurine?  I thought maybe it was an old salt or pepper shaker but nothing indicated so.  We thought to ourselves “WTF?”  Which leads me to what is truly my favorite Lagunitas beer, WTF: Wilco Tango Foxtrot — check it out.

Maybe one of these nice hot days in June I’ll have to try this place out even though I’m a Moylan’s fan.

I sooo want to go there. I can’t get over your “visitor”… maybe he is some type of “hop” elf? Seems to be a sprout of some sort, anyway. LOL!

that visitor gives me the willies…I think I would have to have a lot of WTF’s to even feel comfortable with it sitting at my table.

Funny things always happen to you! 🙂

It was really weird! I kind of want to go back and see if we get it again. I thought maybe they give one to everyone but no one else had a “visitor” on their table!
